Translation Memory
Many documents and web pages often contain a large amount of repeated text. Our translation memory system remembers every portion of text that we translate for you, and if that same text is found in another one of your documents, it will be translated automatically.
Translation memory – saves time and money
We use the most up-to-date software to create translation memories to ensure that paragraphs and portions of text that are repeated in your document are not translated twice; that is, identical paragraphs or sentences in the text are always translated the same way (this is particularly the case with instruction manuals for various appliances and devices). Translation memory helps increase the quality of the translation and speed up the delivery time. It also reduces translation costs, since each repetition of an already translated sentence is only calculated and paid for once.
Translation memory reduces the amount of text to be translated, and revising a translated text is much easier than translating all new text. In addition to improving the quality control of the translation, using translation memory also speeds up the translation process itself.
How does translation memory work?
“Bravissimo” uses translation memory for all larger projects. Every sentence we translate for you is stored in our database for subsequent use. The advantages of this are:
• Increased quality of the translation as the same terminology and descriptions are employed which were used in prior translations for your company
• Significant reduction in the delivery time of the final translation because every repeated sentence or paragraph does not have to be re-translated
• Huge cost savings since the revision of the translated text is charged at one third of the basic translation cost. This is fair, because the translator will still have to check whether the repeated sentences, which are saved in the translation memory, fit the context
Regardless of the material in question, there are multiple advantages – the more this system is used, the greater the benefits. It is especially useful in the translation of guides, user manuals, training material and other technical documents with which you can save up to half of the previous translation costs.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is always our priority, and this also applies to our translation system. Only companies that have agreed to share their translation memory will be part of our translation system, and original documents will never be sent to third parties, only terminology; that is, portions of text with no information that could identify the company name or products.
